MIT School of Education and Research celebrated the National Unity Day. The main agenda of the program was to implement the teachings of national unity at the grass root level i.e. within the teaching learning community. The participants introduced everyone to the aspects of Abuse and Bullying. In conclusion, the students gave some tips on how to stay united and face such situations confidently. An open discussion was conducted for the various roles that every teacher should be playing for securing the student’s present and future. A Unity tree was created by the participants with leaves which had the suggestions from all participants’ on one quality that every teacher should be having for strengthening the teaching and learning group.
Women are important element of our society. She is believed to have her aspiration, abilities and qualities as a man does have and it is also agreed that she should have the opportunities to develop her faculties and to express them according to her own choice. MIIT SER students celebrated Women’s Day on 8th Feb 2016. For this celebration Miss. Apurva Sawant presented information on women’s importance in society. She also added inclusion and role of women in each field for the development of nation. Videos representing powerful women in India were shown to dedicate this day for successful women. We also celebrated birthday of our student Miss. Pearl and wished her being the honor of the occasion.
As Dr. Vishwanath Karad believes in and encourages value-based education, we at MIT SER B. Ed College, Loni Kalbhor decided to arrange for Intercollegiate Extempore Competition related to same topic. One more reason to organize this event was also to pay our respect to the great orator of our Institution. We are greatly inspired and influenced by his thoughts and so in order to give a platform to the youth of today to express themselves, we at SER, Loni Kalbhor, arranged Vishwa Jigyasa Intercollegiate Extempore Competition. This year the theme of the extempore competition was: ‘Biology gives you brain, Life turns into a thoughtful mind’ was chosen to pay our highest respect and good wishes on his 75th birth year of Prof. Dr. Vishwanath Karad.
We had arranged Lecture Series delivered by educationalist to teacher trainees of our college on topics like: ‘Right to Education Act, Importance of Yoga and Pranayam, Benefits derived from Practicing Yoga, Cancer Awareness Program, motivational talk on Power of association, power of submission and power of spoken words.’
An Educational movie Rough Book showed to give an example of innovative Science teacher by Aakash Foundation. This movie show was arranged on 2nd Jan 2016 as a new start in the teaching field for our students as well as teachers of various schools. Principals, School co-ordinators and school teachers took this opportunity to add up the knowledge and attitude of being special teacher. This movie found to inspire our student for their teaching career.
We celebrate Republic Day with all faculties at the campus of Loni. This year our students Miss. Joslyn Fernandes, Miss. Apurva Sawant and Miss. Lizelle Cota compared the whole programme with Guest introduction. Student-teachers participated in March pass along with all faculty students.
Our student-teachers along with Asst. Prof. Vinod Salve attended Bhartiya Chatra Sansad 2016. Miss. Lizelle Cota, Miss. Joslyn Fernandes, Miss. Apurva Sawant, Mr. Rosario Alfanso, Miss. Sonal Palsule experiened this sansad.
We celebrated various days from 8th Feb to 13th Feb 2016 such as Floral print day, Geometrical Shapes day, western outfit day, Retro day, mismatch day, traditional day with activities such as food mela, fun fair, poster making (theme based), and best out of waste. These celebrations with activities found useful in team building and skill development to run business as well as communication skills.
Ankur is an Inclusive school where all types of schools learn with each other. We visited this school on 10th Feb 2016. Students of SER interacted with principal of Ankur School and asked questions related to take such students as a challenge of teaching-learning process. This visit found useful to understand inclusive classroom and inspired students to work with them in future. Science Park at Chinchwad is very nice museum of scientific concepts where one can observe demonstrations of scientific phenomena. Students of SER visited science park on 10th Feb 2016 and took information, watched 3D movie and Planetarium also. This visit leads them to understand science through hands on experiences.
On 18th Feb 2016, our students visited Antar Bharati Balgram School, Lonavala specially meant for orphan students. Students of SER conducted various games related to develop life skills, value education such as Balloon game, Machine game, puzzles on character identification, best out of waste etc. After games, students distributed sweets and appreciated their performance. This visit found to sensitize our students developing social skills and problem solving.
On 29th Feb 2016 our students celebrated mother language day and National Science Day. Students expressed their views about their mother language such as Marathi, hindi, telgu, kokani, odisi etc. students also celebrated national science day orientating with science day themes, objectives and history behind it’s celebration, importance, C. V. Raman etc. this activity found beneficial reflecting importance of mother language and science in life of human being.
Dr. P.C. Alexander Elocution Competition Ms. Akanksha Pandey & Ms. Surekha Dukare participated in renouned Dr. P.C. Alexander Elocution Competition Organized by Student Welfate Committee of University of Pune on 15th October 2013. They got Participation Certificate.
